When's the big day?
May 11. Yes, May 11. Yes, there are a lot of "ifs", like, if the computers come in time, and if we get all the painting done, and if Forest Acres gives us the go ahead. But May 11 is the day.

Well, the AT&T people didn't show up today. They were supposed to come install a new d-marc site. This will hold up our phone and computer system installation.
When I was at the clinic this morning around 10am the sheetrockers hadn't arrived yet to finish the job. Surprise, surprise.
on the positive side, the new siding, roof repair and skylight installation were moving along nicely.
We're aiming for an opening date of May 11. Cross your fingers!

Slowly, but surely
The inside of the building has been demo'd. The new bathroom's plumbing is all in, and the walls have been framed. The electrical and data ports are in place. This week we are hoping the inspector will come and allow the sheetrocking to begin. Then it will look more like a clinic, instead of an empty shell. At some point the two buildings will be joined, and some cabinetry will be installed.
We hope you all like bright and happy colors!! we will have plenty of them :)

Where?
Regarding the location of our new clinic. In the past few days I have been asked a number of times if our clinic will be in the old dance studio? I knew that the building was built as a dentist's office, and at some point was a salon. now i have heard that it was indeed a dance studio at some point. I will research this a little bit when I find the time.
The building is across the street from Pavlovich School of Dance, has a flat roof and is a beige-green color. Presently it is two buildings under 1 roof, but we will be making it into 1 building.
Our friends at Bobbitt Design/Build will be starting next week some time. Ben Wilson, at Bobbitt, has been working with us for months and has thus far done a superb job. We feel confident the company will continue to deliver high quality service through-out the rest of the project. Thanks, Ben!

We did it. We finally closed on our building yesterday. We have Billy Way and George Meetze of Wilson-Kibler/Grubb & Ellis, and Bert Brannon, of Moses, Koon and Brackett, PC to thank for all of their hard work. We celebrated with a fantastic lunch at Motor Supply, Co Bistro.
After work Nori and Will, Eddie, our children, our friend Karla Brannon, and I celebrated again at Tombo Grille. We saw many clients and friends there and had a great time. Today it's back to business.
We start construction next week.. Renovations will take 4-5 weeks, followed by installation of computers, phone and medical equipment and then we will be ready for business.
We can not wait to serve you in our new hospital.

I have been reluctant to update this blog in fear that our plans would change again. We are in the process of buying 23 Forest Lake Place for our clinic. This building is located behind Zoe's, Carolina First Bank, the new Corma's and La-Z-boy Furniture. We are directly across the street frm Pavlovich School of Dance.
If all goes well, we will close on the property by the end of February. Then we have some work to do and will hopefully be open by mid-April, sooner if we're lucky.
We are so excited about this venture and are thrilled to share it with all of our wonderful clients and patients. We promise to make our clinic a friendly, happy and compassionate place for all of you. We have already hired a few people that we know will be superb and we look forward to having you all meet them.
See you soon.

The Devine Street location didn't work out for us so we are looking for another location.
We think we will have one soon, maybe this week. Then we can get started with a little construction and be up and running in 2 months.
We are sorry for the delay, but remember, we are at Five Points Animal Clinic if your pet needs us. The number there is 799-4302.
Kisses to the dogs and cats!
